How will this role impact First Command?

As an Auto Loan Title Specialist at First Command Bank, you will play a critical role in managing the title process for auto loans. You will ensure that all vehicle titles are processed accurately and efficiently, while maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements. Your attention to detail and strong organizational skills will help facilitate smooth transactions for our customers and support the overall success of the lending department.

What will the employee do in this role?

  • Processing: Review, verify, and process vehicle titles for new and existing auto loans, ensuring accuracy and compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Documentation Management: Collect, organize, and maintain all required documentation for auto loans, including title documents, lien filings, and loan agreements.
  • Compliance and Verification: Ensure that all titles and lien filings are completed correctly and submitted in a timely manner to avoid any delays or compliance issues.
  • Customer Service: Address and resolve inquiries and issues related to auto loan titles, providing exceptional service and support throughout the title process.
  • Coordination: Work closely with dealerships, state motor vehicle departments, and other stakeholders to facilitate title transfers and resolve any discrepancies or issues.
  • Reporting: Prepare and maintain reports on title processing metrics, compliance, and any outstanding issues or exceptions.
  • Training and Support: Provide guidance and training to other team members on title processing procedures and best practices as needed.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and organized records of all title transactions and related documents for audit and compliance purposes.
  • Serves as a back-up for the collateral specialist by posting payments, funding/renewing loans, and working on paid-out loans. (As needed).
  • All other duties as assigned.

What Skills & Qualifications do you need?

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree or higher in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field preferred.

Work Experience

  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in title processing or a related field, preferably within a banking or financial institution.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook) and experience with loan processing software is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of auto loan processes, title regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients, colleagues, and external partners
  • Ability to identify and resolve issues effectively, using critical thinking and analytical skills.
  • Must be thoroughly familiar with the Equal Credit Opportunity Act, Truth-in-Lending Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, and all other federal regulations as they pertain to loans
  • Must be able to maintain confidential information and records
  • Ability to take ownership of each duty and proof your own work for accuracy
  • Ability to accurately follow oral and written instructions and to think and use good judgment
