As a Business Development lead, you will serve as a vital resource for our field force, equipping them with the expertise and support necessary to drive holistic sales strategies encompassing retirement planning and beyond. Your role will involve collaborating closely with our sales teams, providing training, guidance, and specialized knowledge to empower them to effectively engage clients and offer comprehensive financial solutions.
What will the employee do in this role?
- Plan and execute four (4) proactive events, meetings, training sessions, each day.
- Enter all activities and cases in Salesforce on the same week they are executed.
- Collaborate with division leadership on the format, structure, and objectives to be contained in District Growth Plans using data to accelerate the planning process, advisor recruiting, advisor development and sales growth in insurance, investments, and banking.
- Collaborate with the District Advisors to build and execute Growth Plans data to accelerate the planning process, advisor recruiting, advisor development and sales growth in insurance, investments, and banking. Plans should detail advisors to target, product line opportunities, training needs, client event opportunities, and growth targets in each business line.
- Lead with the First Command holistic planning process and position solutions in the context of that process and client needs.
- Act as an “ambassador” in the field for the First Command vision, the holistic planning process, and the Integrated Sales structure and operating model.
- Partner with the Head of internal Sales to develop and deliver sales training to the internal sales team.
- Partner closely with the solution-experts, product management, and the Internal Specialists to deliver sales strategies to each division.
- Partner closely with the solution-experts and the internal specialists to leverage opportunity lists of clients, and advisors for in-field sales initiatives.
- Coordinate with the division leadership on new product rollout.
- Leverage the thought leadership and wholesaling horsepower of partner firms to drive sales in the division.
- Partner with the solution-experts, product management, and marketing on content for division. education workshops and own the in-field execution.
- Partner with the solution-experts, product, and marketing on the content for District Client events and own the in-field execution.
- Stay current on industry trends, new product development, and industry best practices.
- Source learning and accreditation opportunities for yourself and for your internal sales partners.
- Always represent First Command in the highest possible manner and ensure all sales activities comply with industry regulations and company policies.
What skills & qualifications do you need?
Education
· Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline required (MBA preferred).
Work Experience
· 10 + years in Financial Services industry.
Certifications
· CFP® required.
· Retirement Income Certified Professional (RICP®) required (obtain within 12 months)
· Series 7, Series (63 / 65) OR Series 66, Life / Variable annuities licenses required.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
· Self-motivated.
· Exceptional people skills and emotional intelligence required. Ability to build rapport, instill confidence, earn, and maintain trust, and model servant leadership are crucial for success in this role. Polished, engaging, and effective at public speaking - able to present to live audiences.
· Excellent communication and presentation skill.
· Be present and engaged at corporate training and recognition events as required.
