How will you impact First Command?
The System Administrator position is responsible for providing enterprise systems administration and technical support companywide to ensure high availability of mission critical technical services. Proactively manage and maintain configurations and deployments of systems, servers, and related solutions. The position participates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure. The position also assists Agile Train teams as required, and provides third-level support to the BIS Support Center on system issue resolution.
What will you be doing?
- Participate in development and management of diverse systems and solutions.
- Diagnose and identify system and infrastructure efficiency improvements based on service requirements.
- Provide Windows Server support in Physical, Virtual and Cloud Environments
- Implement and maintain services including M365, Azure, Active Directory, Group Policy, file and folder permissions, cybersecurity software and other corporate infrastructure services.
- Helps to monitor and maintain systems hardware, operating systems, and related infrastructure to ensure reliable operation
- Assist with capacity planning, disaster recovery, and business continuity for all servers and storage systems
- Produce and maintain detailed documentation for in-use systems (HW, OS, etc)
- Required to be on-call and available for special duties outside normal working hours
What skills & qualifications do you need?
Education
- Preferred: - Associates Degree in computer science or similar field
Work Experience
- Required: 2 - 5 years working in a Windows multi-domain environment supporting a minimum of 300 servers and 1800 employees
- Prefer experience with the following technologies: Microsoft Windows Server 2022/2019/2016, Active Directory, Microsoft System Center Suite, Cohesity Backup, VMware ESXi/vSphere 8, and Azure M365
Certifications
- (current) MCSA preferred
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Recognize, troubleshoot and resolve system issues
- Ability to work within a team environment to maintain various BIS Systems integrity
- Strong communication (written and verbal) skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Operations experience in a production environment preferred.
