Concept Innovation Intern (Fall Semester)

This multidisciplinary team will focus on the future of Enerpac, to reimagine products, explore new opportunities, and create value through user-centered designs.
We are looking for a highly motivated, energetic engineering or design student to join our Concept Innovation team and provide hands on engineering, and creative support.
What you will be doing?
- Conceptualize, design, and assemble rapid prototypes, and iterate as needed based on testing and feedback
- Support Design & Innovation team in brainstorming and concept generation of industrial tools
- Support improvements and updates to Enerpac Innovation Lab and Co-Lab
- Operation, maintenance, and updates to desktop 3D printers
- Design and prototyping of lab fixtures and mockup assemblies
What skills and competencies do you need?
Skills:
- 3D design tools (Solidworks or Creo)
- Experience using hand tools and power tools
- Microsoft products especially Teams
Skills that will make you stand out:
- Miro online collaboration software
- Experience utilizing and operating 3D printers
- 2D sketching and visual design
- Experience with design thinking or iterative processes/prototyping
- Previous product development experience in engineering or design intern role

Education and Experience
- Student in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Design, or Industrial Design program
Physical Demands
Employee may have to lift documents/work materials up to 30 pounds in weight. Employee will have to be able to walk/climb to a variety of primary work locations, including traveling by air/auto and potentially remote sites. Position may require travel up to 25% of time depending on assigned projects. Employee will need to listen, understand, and speak with team members in person, telephonically, and electronically at all levels within a diverse workforce and with supported organizations. Employee is able to work in front of a personal computer for extended periods of time.
Work Environment
Primary work environment is in a temperature-controlled office setting but may also be visiting different manufacturing facilities where following appropriate safety protocols at the location would be required.
