Summary – basic function of the role

Responsible for operation of cutting and sewing material and assembling textile covers to produce quality products by performing the following duties. Perform a variety of task within assigned Round Sling Production Area (RSPA).

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Operate and tend equipment to cut, sew, and/or stuff and adjust machine functions as necessary using dials, pedals, levers, panel buttons, etc.
  • Monitor quality throughout the shift by inspecting each part before and after it is produced for dirt, debris, and quality.
  • Keep supplies readily available and organized.
  • Understand the handling of product and proper methods of cutting, stitching and stuffing according to work instructions or supervisor’s instructions.
  • Count, sort and stack finished work pieces and dispose of waste material.
  • Clearly label raw material, work in progress, and finished goods.
  • Conduct quality inspections on products and parts and troubleshoot where product is needed.
  • Ensure equipment is operating correctly to produce high quality product.
  • Perform a variety of jobs within the production process up to and including prepping product for shipment.
  • Fill out daily production hours spreadsheet.
  • Comply with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and all other Safety/OSHA requirements.
  • Consistently adhere to and support company policies, Work Instructions and/or other procedures, and ISO requirements.
  • Compliance with all local, state and federal requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Knowledge of products and operations.
  • Basic knowledge of MS Windows.

Education and Experience

Education Requirements: High School diploma or GED preferred.

Experience Requirements: 2+ years of industrial sewing and/or working in a manufacturing environment.

Physical Demands

Ability to lift 1-30 pounds frequently, and intermittently up to 50 pounds.  Employee may have to lift documents/work materials up to 75 pounds (assisted lift) in weight. Employee will have to be able to walk/climb to a variety of primary work locations. Employee will need to listen, understand, and speak with team members at all levels within a diverse workforce. Employee will stand 100% of workday occasionally bends 90 degrees and occasionally twist 45 degrees.

Work Environment

Primary work environment is temperature-controlled workshop/manufacturing facility where following appropriate safety protocols at the location would be required. Employee will be exposed to heavy levels of noise in workshop.
