The Senior Financial Analyst works closely with the Oracle accounting team, with this role predominantly supporting the Corporate function. This individual will report to the Accounting Manager, collaborate with other senior financial analysts supporting business units and financial reporting, and support the Corporate Controller in certain activities. This person is responsible for processing transactions within the Corporate ledger,   supporting the Corporate close cycle, assisting with financial reporting, and facilitating the preparation of the annual Corporate budget.  This person works with the various corporate departments to develop the Corporate financial plans and forecasts, analyzes Corporate’s monthly performance, ensures accurate internal and external (SEC) reporting of consolidated results and participates in a wide variety of finance related projects.

The successful candidate will be self motivated, have strong problem solving and interpersonal skills. This individual must be able to manage several projects simultaneously, effectively communicate with internal customers (including finance controllers, IT, treasury, tax, HR and other individuals) and have thorough knowledge of US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive the Corporate ledger accounting processes and related month-end close (including recording appropriate journal entries, completing account reconciliations and submitting results).
  • Prepare annual Corporate financial plan and quarterly forecast updates.
  • Involvement in SEC reporting - contributing to the 10-K and 10-Q by writing footnotes and gathering support
  • Assist in validating the Corporate financial control structure established for Section 404 Reporting is adhered to on a monthly/quarterly basis and recommending process or control improvements, as applicable.
  • Perform various financial analyses, including monthly income statement and balance sheet variance analysis.
  • Provide justification and support for complex and subjective accounts (workers compensation liabilities, medical IBNR, stock compensation).
  • Assist the shared services department in gl coding of corporate invoices.
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions on key finance strategic initiatives including finance automation and transformation and participating in such approved initiatives.

Required Capabilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, CPA preferred.
  • 2-4 years experience in public accounting, or similar progressive experience.
  • Ability to analyze, communicate and present information accurately and succinctly.
  • Self-motivated and proactive, both with respect to managing workload and own professional development.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to effectively manage multiple tasks concurrently.
  • Able to adjust to changing priorities – ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines.
  • Highly motivated team player with excellent interpersonal, analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Capability to meet deadlines and attention to detail.
  • Above average technical accounting skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficiency using electronic spreadsheets, word processing, preferably Microsoft Office applications.
  • HFM/Oracle system experience desired but not required.
