General Description
The Accounting Intern will support the Credit Department by assisting with process analysis, customer credit approvals, and credit limit management. The intern will help develop and maintain a database of customer-specific collection and deduction practices. In addition, the intern will gain hands-on experience using Microsoft Power BI and QuickBase to extract data, develop reports, and enhance departmental reporting capabilities. This role will work closely with both the Credit & Collections team and the Sales Allowances team to support accurate reporting and customer-specific insights.
Major Responsibilities and Tasks/Duties of the Position
Assist the Credit & Collections Department staff and management with a variety of responsibilities, including but not limited to the following:
- Develop and implement new templates and workflow procedures for major customer invoicing, payments, and deductions
- Analyze payment trends and behaviors of key customers
- Support customer credit limit changes and ongoing credit limit maintenance
- Assist the Credit Manager with new customer credit reviews, including credit screening and reference checks
- Conduct research, perform data entry, and ensure accurate recording and maintenance of complete financial records
- Prepare and deliver a final presentation to the Bud Antle, LLC executive team summarizing findings and contributions
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Internship Details
- Summer 2026, 12-week internship
- 100% onsite (not a remote internship)
- Pay Rate: $20 - $22 per hour
- No relocation or housing assistance provided
Required Skills
Job Specific Competencies
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Understanding of basic accounting principles
- Organizational skills
- Strong attention to detail with focus on accuracy
- Knowledge of Power BI and/or QuickBase is preferred, but not required
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work in a collaborative and inclusive environment
Physical Requirements
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for long periods of time; use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; and talk or hear.
- The employee must occasionally lift (including overhead) and/or up to 15 lbs.
Work Hour & Travel Requirements
- Full time, 40-hour workweek, no overtime expected
- No travel expected
Required Experience
Education Level and Fields of Study
- Fall 2026 rising junior or senior obtaining a bachelor’s degree, with a concentration in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Agricultural Business, or a related field
Pay Rate
- $20 - $22 per hour
