GENERAL DESCRIPTION / PRIMARY PURPOSE:
The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for leading the 3rd shift maintenance personnel and ensuring all maintenance work and scheduled PM’s are completed in a timely fashion, under the direction of the Maintenance Manager. Maintenance activities must ensure that employee health and safety, product safety, and the protection of the environment are never compromised, and that all maintenance activities enhance product quality, plant performance, and the business objectives.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS/DUTIES OF THE POSITION:
• This role will primarily oversee and lead the 3rd shift maintenance operations.
• Closing out pending maintenance items based on 1st and 2nd shift supervisors pass down.
• Provides Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS) support for sanitation operations.
• Supports plant start-up operations in coordination with Quality Assurance and Operations personnel.
• Supports off-hour (non-production) projects as needed.
• Lead a team of mechanics in carrying out preventive/corrective maintenance inspections during shift operations and during non-production days to ensure equipment availability.
• Champion the site safety objectives through leadership and effective communications. Assist Site Leadership and Safety Management Representative in the implementation of any safety related projects, upgrades, or improvements.
• Ensure there exists within the maintenance team an attitude of absolute intolerance for unsafe situations.
• Assist work group to implement and monitor an effective PM program and monitor the program on existing equipment and new equipment acquisitions. Ensure that work orders and work assignments are completed in a timely fashion by the maintenance department.
• Oversee the operation and tracking of the parts room and maintain the required inventory of spare parts.
• Maintain a record of equipment repair costs.
• Maintain good human relations skills, communication skills, and leadership qualities with supervisors, peers, and subordinates.
• Direct, coordinate, and manage scheduled maintenance and machine changeovers in conjunction with scheduled production.
• Assist work groups to implement and monitor an efficient maintenance program.
• Maintain strong human relations and communication skills while collaborating with Managers, supervisors, peers, and subordinates.

• Assist group in developing and meeting training needs and developmental programs to upgrade competencies and maintenance effectiveness.
• Prepare studies and carry out assignments as requested by the Engineering and Maintenance Leadership.
• Assist with planning annual maintenance requirements, including budgeting and M&R tracking.
• Supervise contractors as needed.
• Maintain a productive working relationship with counterparts at other affiliated facilities to learn from shared experiences.
• Responsible for reviewing and evaluating personnel performance, safety, and training.
• Follow all food safety requirements and GMP guidelines.
