 GENERAL DESCRIPTION / PRIMARY PURPOSE:

The Compliance Specialist will assist the President of the Diversified Americas division and the Group’s Senior Director, Compliance in ensuring Diversified Americas division (the “Division”) functions in a legal and ethical manner while meeting its business goals. The Compliance Specialist will be responsible for assisting and ensuring that the companies within the Division are operating in compliance with the requirements set out by the Dole plc’s Compliance function.

 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS/DUTIES OF THE POSITION:

  • Understanding the compliance requirements set out by the Dole plc Compliance team and communicating these requirements to the companies within the Division.
  • Acting as the divisional compliance contact for the Diversified Americas division with responsibility for the monitoring and implementation of the Compliance policies. This includes but is not limited to: Code of Conduct, Conflicts of Interest, Sanction & Export Control, Antitrust, Antibribery & Corruption and Insider Trading.
  • Where a company within the Division requires additional support to ensure compliance, the Compliance Specialist will assist the company in implementing the policies, ensuring appropriate training takes place and policies are met.
  • Gaining an understanding of each company within the Division to ensure that each company is in compliance.
  • Managing the quarterly reporting of CSC Legal matters on behalf of the Diversified North America division.
  • Obtaining quarterly and annual Compliance confirmations where required.
  •  As ESG (carbon footprint, sustainability) reporting is rolled out across Dole plc, the Compliance Specialist will obtain a thorough understanding of what is required and assist the companies in reporting and compliance.
  • Undertaking ad hoc compliance related work as required by the Division and other duties as assigned.
  • May be required to perform other corporate, banking and administrative duties as assigned that support the department’s goals and operations.

 


Required Skills

JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in compliance or related field.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skill.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and experience in working with multiple stakeholders and all levels within an organization
  • Experience in documenting and reporting compliance matters
  •  Attention to detail
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to sit and use a computer for extended periods of time; ability to answer phones and utilize a variety of office equipment. Ability to lift minimum 15 lbs. and reach overhead.

 

WORK HOUR & TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

  • The normal hours of work will be8:30am to 5.30pm, Monday through to Friday, but due to the nature of the business these hours and days may vary, and the role requires the employee to be flexible as the position demands.
  • This role may require occasional travel, international and/or domestic.

 


Required Experience

EDUCATION & CERTIFICATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, law or related field.
