At Dole our employees are the cornerstone of our success, and we are looking for dynamic individuals to join our team. We have an excellent opportunity for a Parts Clerk/Inventory Specialist, at our Dole Fresh Vegetables manufacturing facility in Springfield, Ohio.

In this position you would be verifying inventory in the Parts Room and Containers, supporting the Dole Maintenance Team when in need of parts, quotes, and signing out tools/chemicals, contacting vendors for inquiries on different parts and purchase order issues and entering downtime data into JD Edwards System for tracking purposes. The work in this position requires frequent lifting, climbing, standing, walking, crouching, squatting, bending and kneeling. The position may require weekend and/or holiday work.

Our work environment is unique. This position requires continuous work near noise, chemicals and cold (the Production Area averages 34°F.  

A.  GENERAL DESCRIPTION / PRIMARY PURPOSE

Verify inventory in the Parts Room and Containers. Support the Maintenance team when in need of parts, quotes, and signing out tools/chemicals. Contact vendors for inquiries on different parts and PO issues. Also, input downtime data into JD Edwards System for tracking purposes.

Position is considered “safety sensitive” which requires the passing of an independently administered drug screen.

A.  MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS/DUTIES OF THE POSITION

·         Interact with vendors by conducting price comparisons, looking for the best possible price

·         Inventory management and control, to include receiving ordered goods, cycle counts, and placing in inventory

·         Oversee entering of parts requisitions

·         Keeping production supply levels filled and ordered

·         Understanding of maintenance practices such as electrical, welding, hydraulics etc.

·         Close and generate preventative maintenance work orders

·         Employees must adhere to all policies, practices, and SOP’s related to producing Safe Quality Food (SQF)

·         Ensure the integrity and continued operation of the food safety system in the event of organizational or personnel changes within the company or associated facilities

·         Support special projects and other duties as assigned

A.  JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES (Knowledge, Skill and Experience Requirements)

•               Basic computer / typing skills

•               Excellent organizational and communication skills

•               Understanding of maintenance and inventory principles

•               Ability to multitask

Required Skills

A.    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to maneuver around an array of equipment, to work in a cold environment, bend, stoop, climb stairs, and lift up to 50 pounds. Able to work in a cold environment (35* on Plant floor). (Notification required due to the Americans with Disabilities Act).

A.    WORK HOUR REQUIREMENT (Indicate all that apply and specify whether it is preferred or required.)
