GENERAL DESCRIPTION / PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Learns the overall agriculture operation by work rotation throughout the Dole Pineapple Operations Department. Gains knowledge and competency in the logistics processes required to become an Agriculture Supervisor.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS/DUTIES OF THE POSITION:
-Trains in the logistics of Dole Hawaii pineapple operations that include but not limited to land preparation, planting, irrigation, spray, harvesting, packing, and shipping, and agricultural engineering.
-Learns the Dole documentation process of chemical compliance in accordance with workers’ protection standards.
-Learns the incentive pay program for planting and spray operations.
-Participates in agricultural cost control programs to ensure budget goals are achieved.
-Learns how to apply agricultural best practices by adhering to Dole written procedures via the Agricultural Practices Manual.
-In conjunction with the direct supervisor, aid in the development of safety programs that reduces accidents and conducting regular operations safety meetings.
-Under the guidance of the supervisor, prepare for the Certified Pesticide Applicators License, including fumigation and chemigation. Certification must be achieved.
-Assists Agricultural Manager with upgrades and document agricultural practices.
-Performs special research and development projects as assigned.
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS:
-Database maintenance: update tracking of all tasks related to land preparation and irrigation.
-Accomplish the schedule for leaf and soil analysis.
-Implement field surveys following Integrated Pest Management
INTERNAL RELATIONS
WITH WHOM: With internal supervisors and managers. Divisions, departments, and other corporate employees Agricultural Manager, Agriculture Supervisors.
EXTERNAL RELATIONS
WITH WHOM: Suppliers Third party contractor's & External auditors State government officials

EDUCATION & CERTIFICATION:
Bachelor's degree in agricultural discipline
Valid driver's license is required
