GENERAL DESCRIPTION / PRIMARY PURPOSE:
This role is a strategic leader working in partnership with sales, marketing, retail customers, account marketing and our broker team to provide analysis and selling strategies to ensure growth for Dole produced and distributed goods. These goods are inclusive of all Dole Fresh Vegetable products. The general purpose of the position is to ensure distribution and increased sales for Dole Value Added products through a strategic approach to the business, while managing the increased profitable sales growth of Dole products within the designated area.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS/DUTIES OF THE POSITION:
• Lead and manage category and thought leadership across produce
• Determine and develop the correct strategy of the customer base through collaborative and consultation with support groups of category development and the customer
• Analyze category and brand trends and provide recommendations/strategies for trade promotional support, pricing, shelving/merchandising guidelines, which includes the four “P’s” (product, price, placement, promotion) in a designated geographic area
• Develop compelling, cutting-edge selling stories that highlight key points of difference between Dole and its competitors
• Assist in preparation of business reviews and new account presentations
• Prepare and supervise the execution of the budget
• Prepare and lead negotiation with key vendors
• Prepare and publish reports and scorecards as scheduled
• Other duties as assigned
Required Skills
JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES:
• 5-7 years category development experience
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, developed analysis skills, decision making skills
• Understanding of analysis recommendations on the P&L
• Proficiency in basic software programs such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Cognos
• In depth understanding of syndicated data line management
• Base knowledge of all Dole Fresh categories and how they work, integrated account management and basic qualitative and quantitative consumer needs analysis
• Requires analytical thinking, story-telling, ability to read audience, customer focus, planning, business awareness, teamwork
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Able to carry/move/lift up to 40 pounds, including overhead.
• Ability to sit and use a computer for extended periods of time; ability to answer phones and utilize a variety of office equipment.
WORK HOUR & TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
• Ability to work beyond regular business hours and/or weekends.
• Ability to travel up to 40% required.
Required Experience
EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:
• Bachelor’s degree in business management or related field, or 5+ years business management experience
PAY RATE:
- $120,000 - $130,000 Annually
