At Dole our employees are the cornerstone of our success and we are looking for dynamic individuals to join our team. We have an excellent opportunity for multiple Maintenance Technicians ranging in skill sets from apprentices to master mechanics, at our Dole Fresh Vegetables manufacturing facility in Springfield, Ohio.

 

Position is considered “safety sensitive” which requires the passing of an independently administered drug screen.

 

Pay Range: $22.91/hr.- $36.91/hr depending on experience and position offered. 

 

Work Shifts:

1st Shift: 6am-230pm/ or when work has been completed could run over

2nd Shift: 230pm-11pm/ or when work has been completed, could run over

3rd shift:  11pm-830am/ or when work has been completed, could run over

**must have the flexibility to work weekends and holidays as the facility runs on a 7 days/week operation**

 

Job Specifics:

  • responsible for repairing and maintaining processing and packaging equipment used within the facility.
  • Inspects equipment for proper functioning.
  •  performs preventative maintenance duties per manufacturer's specifications.
  •  May support repairs and installations for other advanced production/manufacturing equipment.
  • Diagnoses equipment malfunctions and makes repairs or adjustments as needed.
  • This position requires continuous work near cold, noise, and chemicals.
  •  The position requires frequent lifting, climbing, standing, walking, crouching, squatting, bending and kneeling.
  • The position may require weekend and/or holiday work.

Required Skills

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

  1. Repair electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical equipment.
  2. Maintain and operate Hayssen packaging equipment or equivalent. 
  3. Troubleshooting and repairs of Ishida & Yamato scales
  4. Ability to maintain and operate chlorine and ammonia systems. 
  5. TIG weld stainless steel in a sanitary environment.
  6. Perform Preventative Maintenance Work.
  7. Perform breakdown analysis.
  8. Oversee or perform general housekeeping.
  9. Upgrade production lines with new/upgraded equipment/technology.
  10. Direct activities of outside contractors working on assigned line
  11. Change line for package changeovers.
  12. Enforce GMP, safety, food safety, and audit standards.
  13. Experience with HVAC Systems
  14. Work independently under limited supervision (self-management)
  15. Documentation of work schedule and work tasks completed.
  16. Build and install various types of equipment and fixtures.
  17. Assist on any other project or job assigned by Maintenance Supervisors.
  18. Willing to work weekends and overtime as necessary.
  19. Conduct yourself in a "team spirit of cooperation" throughout the company.

Required Experience

JOB REQUIREMENT

Preferred Education & Qualifications:

  • 1-5 years' experience as a maintenance mechanic/technician or a strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Understands the hazards of ammonia and chlorine refrigeration systems.
  • Knowledge of basic concepts, practices, and procedures in food manufacturing preferred.
  • Has electrical safety training.
  • Basic working knowledge of electrical components used in processing and packaging systems like transformers, motors, motor controls, instruments, electrical protection devices.
  • Ability to furnish and use hand tools normally expected of Electrician/Mechanical technicians.
  • Ability to obtain working understanding of a CMMS system. Document work completed, assign time and parts to proper WO.
  • Good working knowledge of conveyor systems, packaging machinery, pumps, gear reduction boxes, dicers, and other processing machinery.
  • Working knowledge of GMP’s within a food manufacturing facility.
  • Basic computer navigation or HMI, CMMS, access procedure folder on network, and E-mail proficiency.

Language Skills – Ability to read, analyze, and interpret equipment schematics, drawings, manufacturer’s literature, and technical procedures. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from supervisors and managers
