GENERAL DESCRIPTION / PRIMARY PURPOSE:

Check the quality of conventional and organic products, by performing inspections to evaluate the compliance of good manufacturing practices, food safety, quality standards according customer requirements. Provide support with additional duties as assigned by the manager. 

 

Pay Range: $19-21/hr 

 

 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS/DUTIES OF THE POSITION:

 

  • Perform quality inspection of product and keep an organized log of inspections at 3rdparty warehouses, transfer facilities, gates, yards for both conventional and organic products with their corresponding hygiene practices. 

 

  • Report any type of issue through documentation and photos, to ensure the correct evaluation of the final product. 

 

  • Maintain quality control records of inspections for both conventional and organic products with their corresponding hygiene procedures. 

 

  • Ensure proper cleaning procedures and maintain cleaning log, per Food Safety procedures.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Lift and move 50 lb. boxes of bananas, plantains and pineapples. 

  • Availability to work in and outdoors, all seasons. 

  • Work in a warehouse setting or field location. 

  • Work around heavy equipment and in high places. 

 

 

WORK HOUR & TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Availability to work overtime, weekends and holidays if needed. 

Required Experience

EDUCATION & CERTIFICATION:

 

  • Must have a valid state issued driver’s license. 

  • Availability to drive company vehicle within the Port facility. 

  • Basic understanding of MS Excel and MS Word office Suite. 

  • Ability to obtain a TWIC card
