What Will I Do In This Role?
- Builds and maintains business and personal relationships across the organization to support EDI partnerships with external customers and suppliers, serving as the primary point of contact for all EDI-related matters.
- Responsible for overall EDI process to maintains expertise in business processes, business data, industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Awareness of functional, company and corporate business objectives and strategies to align with EDI team.
- Manage day-to-day system processing of all EDI transactions, leading team to ensure accurate and timely transmissions.
- Maintains expertise and hands-on technical skills for the applications, databases, and toolsets and processes required for EDI area.
- Support special ad-hoc EDI projects which can include, but are not limited to, analysis of claims and deductions, implementing additional documents and/or discovery and implementation of EDI enhancements.
- Lead prioritization and update process for onboarding of new EDI partnerships with functional business leaders.
- Coordinate EDI project team meetings and follows project plans and project reporting requirements.
- Participates in the implementation of new systems, processes, and system changes.
- Participate in project planning by defining milestones, setting timelines, and leading the EDI team to ensure efficient execution of all tasks.
- Participates in the development, enhancement and management of internal IT processes, methods, standards, and tools.
- Coordinate the use of external resources to support systems and augment the completion of project work across the group. Manage spend for such external resources.
- Collaborate with larger IT team on cross-platform solutions.
- Ensure training and documentation needs are addressed.
- Maintain compliance of systems within IT General Controls structure.
- Develop, lead, and mentor staff.
- Conduct timely annual performance reviews.
- Other duties as assigned.
What Skills Do I Need?
- Bachelor’s Degree (or lower degree with equivalent hands-on experience).
- 5+ years of business experience with EDI (Electronic Data Exchange) Standards and translation software preferred. (Preferably with EDI HQ).
- Strong understanding of organizational goals and the ability to align EDI processes to support business objectives.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting EDI data formats and structures, including X12, EDIFACT, XML, and flat files.
- 2+ years of leading resources or projects in EDI-based environment.
- Hands-on experience coordinating with customers during the setup, testing, and implementation phases of EDI deployments to ensure successful go-lives.
- Demonstrated ability to interact in a positive, respectful manner and establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.
- Exposure to ERP systems (such as JD Edwards or Epicor).
- Knowledge of business operations, database structures, transactional data processing and reporting solutions to meet business needs.
- Knowledge of basic SQL systems and queries.
- Prior experience in retail/CPG space preferred.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment, adapt to shifting urgencies, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Experience working with project management software and trouble ticket reporting systems (Experience with Jira beneficial).
- Proven problem-solving skills with the ability to research, analyze, and resolve EDI-related issues in a timely manner.
