What Will I Do In This Role?
This role will support operations by analyzing KPIs, performing ad hoc analyses, and driving forecasting and budgeting efforts. The ideal candidate has experience navigating complex manufacturing environments, working with large-scale financial and operational data, and providing insights that drive efficiency and performance. Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare, standardize, and analyze financial reports, estimates, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Develop and maintain financial reporting models to support decision-making.
- Monitor financial performance, identify trends, risks, and opportunities, and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis, ensuring accuracy in financial planning.
- Support capital budgeting and reporting processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations and logistics, to provide financial insights and strategic recommendations.
- Conduct financial modeling and scenario analysis for cost optimization, including make vs. buy decisions.
- Provide reporting structure for consolidated inventory planning and obsolescence control.
- Assist with process improvements to enhance efficiency and mitigate financial risks.
- Support executive leadership with financial analysis for key business decisions.
- Assist with various ad hoc financial projects as needed.
What Skills Do I Need?
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
- Internship or relevant work experience (co-op, part-time, or project-based) in a manufacturing, industrial, or operations-focused environment is required.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel including data analysis, building reports, and working with financial models or large data sets.
- Exposure to budgeting, cost analysis, or standard costing concepts through coursework, internships, or prior roles.
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to work across teams and present financial information clearly.
- Curiosity and willingness to learn financial concepts such as ROIC, IRR, and NPV, prior exposure is a plus but not required.
- Experience in a seasonal, global, or dynamic business environment (through work, school projects, or internships) is a plus.
