Working Hours: Regular working hours are Monday to Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Flexible work shifts are in place and candidate must be able to work weekends as part of their regularly assigned work shift, when required. Candidates may be required to work at college campuses other than the campus assigned on an as needed basis.
Required Qualifications: Journeyman Electrician and/or Master Electrician license and eight (8) years of recent and verifiable commercial/industrial related experience preferred. This position requires four (4) years of verifiable supervisory experience in the related field. Must have own transportation to report to other College locations as assigned. Must be forklift certified within one (1) year of employment.
Key Responsibilities: This is not a comprehensive list of responsibilities.
- Supervise the installation, maintenance, and repair of building electrical systems and generators. This includes low and medium voltage power systems, controls, interior and exterior lighting, sports lighting, installation of electrical circuits, conduits, and panels.
- Answers requests via the work order manager application. Coordinates work with other departments and subcontractors. Works with, and advises Planning team on large projects to include high voltage upgrades, new building drawings, etc. Assigns work orders to appropriate staff.
- Supervises staff and contractors that maintain, repair, and install campus fire and security alarm systems. Schedule annual fire alarm inspections for all campus locations.
- Maintains inventory of supplies and parts and requests additional items as necessary per job project. Provide quotes and estimates for future projects as needed.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Knowledge of electrical systems.
- Ability to multi-task and have a high level of organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Required to lift between 20 to 50 pounds on a recurring basis and 50 to 100 pounds on an occasional basis.
- Will work indoors and outdoors and exposed to associated temperatures.
- Computer knowledge to be able to view other personnel related information (i.e. paycheck, W-2, etc.).
