Required Qualifications: This position requires a master’s degree and four (4) years of related experience.
Key Responsibilities: This is not a comprehensive list of responsibilities.
- Coordinate, plan and organize the activities of the Grants area. This includes identifying possible funding opportunities, coordinating meetings and discussions regarding proposal development, following up on assigned tasks and timelines, and editing and writing final proposals as necessary. Provide direction and oversight for the administration of department functions both pre-award and post-award. Develop, recommend and defend operating budget requirements.
- Provide competent management for employees and procedures in both pre-award and post-award areas of responsibility. Develop and distribute clear directives necessary for smooth administration. Provide competent supervision to ensure efficient and effective operation of all organizational units in areas of responsibility. Select, train, assign, evaluate and discipline subordinate staff.
- Respond to inquiries and/or concerns from faculty, students, staff, or the general public to solve problems or discrepancies. Research and troubleshoot areas that need development and improvement. Collaborate with other areas and departments to identify and support activities of benefit to the entire College. Keep abreast of departmental/divisional goals and needs to determine strategic initiatives and unit outcomes that may be addressed through grant opportunities. Meet with faculty and staff to develop, incubate, discuss and share ideas for enhancements through grant opportunities.
- Attend or conduct staff and other College meetings to exchange information; Serve as liaison for areas of responsibility with other individuals, groups, and organizations both internal and external to the College community including state and federal officials representing funding agencies
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Excellent organizational skills, interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Demonstrated attention to detail.
- Ability to develop and meet goals is required.
- Knowledge of computers, peripherals, and software programs such as Microsoft Suite.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, and be flexible to meet the demands of the College.
- Take direction as well as work effectively and professionally on their own
