Rank: Appointment level to any faculty position is dependent upon qualifications and experience.
Salary: Nine-month position. Competitive salary depending on experience. The College also provides a comprehensive benefits package.
Tenure and Promotion: Tenure and promotion are awarded based on a review by a college-wide committee of the candidate’s contributions to service, pedagogy and scholarship.
School of Building and Architectural Technology
School of Building & Architectural Technology offers various Associate of Science programs like Architectural and Building Technology, Interior Design Technology, Drafting and Design Technology, as well as several college credit certificates AutoCAD Foundations (Architectural), AutoCAD Foundations (Engineering), Drafting and Design, and Interior Design (Kitchen & bath Specializations). We offer classes in various modality (face-to-face, online, & hybrid). All our programs are very hands-on and prepare our students to get into a career after completion.

Job Summary
The school of Building & Architectural Technology program seeks a fulltime tenure-track position in Interior Design. The candidate must possess a strong education and teaching background with high emphasis on hands-on labs., Faculty will be teaching a variety of classes related to our Interior Design Technology degrees and certifications.

Required Qualifications: Master’s degree in interior design/ architecture/ or a related field. A minimum of five (5) years’ experience teaching Interior Design and at least 5 years of related work experience owning, managing or working in an interior design store is desired. A current Florida Interior Design License is preferred.
Desired Qualifications:
· Doctorate is preferred.
· Must have the ability to teach daytime, and evening classes.
· Ability to teach mathematics based estimating classes.
· Must have effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
· Previous technical teaching/training experience preferred.
· Ability to use instructional aids in teaching (i.e. Computer, multi-media, trainers, etc.)
· Ability to deliver active learning and learner-centered pedagogies in the classroom/labs.
· Ability to make effective presentations.
· Ability to teach and develop courses and laboratory experiments.
· Ability to work with and motivate students.
· Care about student success and collaborates on strategies to facilitate success for populations including first generation
college students, low-income students, and students from underserved communities.
Key Responsibilities:
· Teaching assigned courses.
· Uses instructional technology methods when presenting course content.
· Communicates effectively and efficiently with students.
· Provides written course syllabus which includes classroom policies, procedures, grading, and learning outcomes.
· Uses appropriate and up-to-date course materials, including learning objectives, texts, and supplementary teaching materials.
· Applies classroom management strategies in face to face, hybrid, and/or online format.
· Implements student assessment policies, such as testing or observation of skills.
· Submits grades or other course assessment reports in a timely manner.
· Manages routine classroom responsibilities in a professional manner.
Professional Development
· Participates in activities that advance professional competencies and teaching skills.
· Engages in activities that advance the teaching discipline or profession.
· Maintains or acquires appropriate or required certifications, licensure, or other professional credentials.
College Responsibilities and Service:
· Serving on department, school, and college-wide committees.
· Participating in the promotion and continuing contract process.
· Attends department, division, and college-wide academic functions.
· Keeps scheduled office hours as required by the respective load formula for the purpose of academic advising.
· Records student attendance as necessary.

- Computer literacy and the ability to navigate in a Windows environment is also required.
