Basic Purpose of Position:  

The position of Money Room Supervisor is responsible for all monies stored in money room and delivered to the money room by Revenue Collectors. Money Room Supervisor will also perform customer service functions, interacting with customers and providing assistance as needed. The Money Room Supervisor performs daily reconciliations and balances all vender, Transit Check sales and related work in preparing daily deposit. The Money Room Supervisor will assist Passenger Services Supervisor if needed.

Major Responsibilities and Duties

 

DESCRIPTION OF TASK

1.

Create daily revenue collection schedule for (Dunbar) using TVM (Ticket Vending Machine) status data from Hummingbird reports.

2.

Reconcile variances in deposits from Hummingbird BI WEB reports and deposits with

finance department. Researches problems related to variances.

3.

Generate and analyze reports from Nextfare system such as what vending machines need servicing, and troubleshooting.

4.

Assists in maintaining a safe and secure work environment by participating in required

training, recognizing and reporting hazards and suspicious activity.

5.

Assign daily work duties to Collectors and Station Supervisors. May fill in for Station Supervisor.

6.

Monitor condition of Automated Fare Collection (AFC) equipment. Ensure timely service for servicing of equipment.

7.

Supervises the counting, balancing and reconciling of all TVM’s.  After collectors count money, it is responsible for imputing information into database.

8.

Prepares daily deposits after TVM’s has been balanced by Revenue Collectors.

9.

Order money for internal exchanges to and from the money room vault. Exchange with bank for Susan B Anthony coins for machines.

10.

Coordinates with and assumes the responsibilities of the Passenger Services Supervisor when needed.

11.

Functions as a Station Supervisor when necessary.

12.

Perform other related duties as required and assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Revenue Collectors – Provides leadership but not direct supervisory responsibilities to Revenue Collectors (union positions).

 

 

EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE
 

 Required:

·         High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

·         3–5 years of cash-handling experience, preferably in a high-volume or secured cash-processing environment (banking, armored transport, retail cash office, or transit fare collections).

·         1–3 years of supervisory experience, preferably in scheduling, performance management, and training.

·         Experience working with automated fare collection systems, cash-counting machines, or vaulting systems

·         Experience working with computers and the basic Microsoft Suite (word, excel, outlook, etc.)

 

Desired:

·         Background in auditing, reconciliation, or financial control is highly desirable

·         Experience working in a Transit environment.

·         Knowledge of the current PATCO Automated Fare Collection System.
