Crowley is actively hiring a Chief Engineer for our innovative eWolf, located at SAE San Diego, CA Harbor. The current opening is with SIU however, you may be considered for another vessel within Crowley; which might require transitioning to a different union.  


Required Skills

Minimum Qualifications and Credentials 

  • MMC- 
    • Basic Training 
    • VPDSD 
    • Required STCW Endorsements and Training 
    • Designated Duty Engineer
  • STCW Medical Certificate -  STCW Expiration Date is used 
  • TWIC badge - Not to expire within three months 
  • Valid Passport - Not to expire within six months 

Preferred Qualifications and Credentials

  • Third Assistant Engineer or Above
  • Electro-Technical Officer
  • Caterpillar, ABB, and Corvus electrical equipment experience.

Required Experience

Minimum Experience

  • Proven experience serving as an Engineer aboard towing vessels.
  • Strong working knowledge of electronically controlled engines and modern control systems.
  • Skilled in diagnosing and repairing shipboard systems, including main engines, propulsion systems, generators, hydraulics, pumps, and electrical components.
  • Working knowledge in Windows computer.
  • Safety-conscious self-starters with the ability to work independently and collaboratively with crew members.
  • Committed to high standards of craftmanship and vessel maintenance; consistently upholding company expectations.

Pay Rate

  • $503.19/Daily Rate with overtime opportunities
