Linux Administrator performing the installation, testing, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of virtual servers and associated operating systems.

 

Responsibilities

·         Building, configuring, sustaining, and patching servers

·         Configuring servers in accordance with DoD security requirements, specifically DISA STIGs

·         Supporting system architecture design and implementation efforts

·         Assisting in sustainment of VMs running hosted applications using VMWare vCenter

·         Managing system resources including performance, memory/CPU, and connectivity to other servers and applications

·         Developing and documenting system administration standard operating procedures

·         Resolving significant hardware/software interface and interoperability problems

·         Ensuring the rigorous application of information security/information assurance policies, principles, and practices

·         Administering and troubleshooting user account management to services running on managed Linux servers

 

 

Requirements

·         10+ years of hands-on experience as a Linux server administrator

·         Experience with system design/development, networking, cloud computing, and Citrix product suite are a plus

·         Possess a high school diploma or GED

·         Installation, configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting of Linux based systems

·         Experience maintaining compliance of Linux based systems using DISA STIGs

·         Knowledge of virtualization concepts and tools

·         Experience with chassis/blade/storage system hardware configuration, maintenance and troubleshooting is a plus

·         Understanding of essential network services such as DNS, SMTP, NTP, IMAP, and SNMP

·         DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification

·         Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) or comparable certification required

·         Secret Clearance 

 

Preferred

·         Experience with shell scripting, Perl, Python

·         Experience with the Puppet Labs or SaltStack configuration management system

·         Experience with kick starting RHEL installs

·         Experience with NetApp storage arrays

·         Knowledge of syslog collection and familiarization with Splunk search language

·         Familiarity with Splunk architecture and best practices

·         Familiarity with installing and troubleshooting ACAS backend

·         Familiarity with Confluence, Jira, and Service Now

·         Experience working in classified environments
