Position Details

Stewards Individual Placement Program (SIPP) provides individuals with service and career opportunities to strengthen communities and preserve our natural resources. Participants work with federal agencies, tribal governments, and nonprofits building institutional capacity, developing community relationships, and supporting ecosystem health. SIPP in partnership with the Bureau of Reclamation are seeking an intern who will work with management specialists and administrative staff on reviewing and digitizing historic records, as well as modernizing file management and working to integrate data tracking, geodatabases and local electronic files. Current paper files in the office contain historic correspondence between agencies and landowners, as well as internal notes and correspondence. The intern will need to review information and determine whether the information should be considered records and digitized. This project will help the office to modernize the filing system as well as work toward full compliance with the Federal Records Act.


Position Responsibilities will include:

  • Review historic records that required digitization.
  • Develop a working methodology to modernize record keeping in the WCAO South Lands group.
  • Digitize historic records applying the methodology developed.
  • Once system has been developed and implemented, intern will train lands and admin staff on new records system.


Minimum Requirements:

  • Pursuing Undergraduate Degree
  • Insurable Driving Record
  • Must be US citizen or Legal Permanent Resident


 Preferred Qualifications:

  • Working on B.S. in Business Management & Administration, Environmental Policy and Management, or Natural Resources Management
  • Proficiency with ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS online are a plus.
