Medical Consultant Reviewer On-Call
Psychiatry – Adolescence Preferred (D.C.)
Our Medical Affairs team is looking for a part-time (less than 20 hour per week) Medical Consultant Reviewer.
This person will need to have a medical licensed in the District of Columbia or attain one after hire. Comagine can guide you through this process.
Our Medical Affairs team, consisting of 30 physicians/dentists and a network of over 35 physician consultants, provides medical review, quality of care oversight, and consultation for various contracts with government and private sector benefit programs. In collaboration with our clients, we develop and implement review criteria to ensure patients get evidence-based care at the right time. In this role, you would:
1. Apply clinical judgment, evidenced-based medicine, and other resources to render timely decisions on clinical peer reviews.
2. Interact with attending physicians regarding potential decertification and related matters.
3. Provide appropriate and timely subject matter expertise and other support to clinical reviewers, case managers, and consultants.
4. Ensure that reviews meet standard for clarity of decision-making and recordkeeping.
Requirements:
Active, current, valid, and unrestricted M.D. or D.O license or certification in a state or territory of the U.S.
Board certification by the American Board of Medical Specialties.
Psychiatry – (Adolescence Preferred).
7 years of medical practice.
Competencies
· Possess the qualifications, as determined by the National Medical Director or designee, to render clinical opinions about the medical conditions, procedures, and/or treatments under review.
· Basic MS Office Suite proficiency
· Excellent writing and communication skills
Hourly Rate Range:
$130 - $140 / HR
