We are seeking a versatile, driven UAS Engineer to join our multidisciplinary team working on cutting-edge Uncrewed Aerial Systems (UAS) and related technologies. This role involves performing non-routine engineering assignments and supporting UAS design and testing. The ideal candidate has a strong engineering background, hands-on experience with UAS platforms, and a passion for prototyping, design, and integration. 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (*Essential functions)

  • Perform mechanical design, integration, and hardware tracking for UAS platforms and associated payloads.
  • Contribute to rapid prototyping, design, testing, and system documentation for UAS multirotor systems and ground support equipment.
  • Edit and create mechanical engineering drawings and support mechanical design efforts.
  • Perform on interdisciplinary teams
  • Apply engineering principles to support the design, fabrication, and testing of UAS platforms.
  • Troubleshoot flight control, communication, and electrical system architectures of UAS and other products.
  • Design electronics packaging and thermal management systems for prototype and flight hardware
  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary internal teams and external customers to provide mechanical and production support.
  • Use SolidWorks and SolidWorks PDM for 3D design, modification, and configuration management of UAS-related hardware.
  • Some physical demands may be present when working with prototypes and testing(under 50 pounds)

Required Experience

Required Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering 
  • Minimum of 3-6 years related experience
  • UAS design and test experience 
  • Demonstrated project experience with 3D design(CAD) and 3D printing
  • Basic programming skills (MATLAB or Python)
  • Experience with SolidWorks
  •  Working knowledge of basic tools such as hand tools, soldering irons, and basic mechanical assembly techniques.
  • U.S. Citizenship required. Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance within 6 months of hire

Preferred Qualification: 

  • Previous experience with SolidWorks PDM for 3D Design, modification and management UAS-related hardware
  •  Background in designing electronic packaging and thermal management systems for prototype and flight hardware
  • Experience with troubleshooting flight control, communication and electrical system architecture of UAS and other products

The salary range, if referenced, represents a good faith estimate.
