General Summary
Performs technical support of local, campus, and wide area networks to include planning, designing, evaluating, and selecting operating solutions.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities (*Essential functions)
- Performs maintenance and upgrade of networks, including servers, routers, switches, firewalls, remote access systems, and network management systems.
- Designs, supports, and manages a multi-zone network architecture.
- Monitors network connectivity and ensures high quality data transmission.
- Creates network diagrams with approved tools.
- Analyzes local and wide area network systems to include testing.
- Resolves complex interoperability problems to obtain operations across all platforms.
- Configures communication media with routers, switches, firewalls, and other devices.
- Configures routine systems to user environments.
- Participates in planning, researching, evaluating, designing, and developing plans for network systems.
- Conducts internal studies and research.
- Supports acquisition of hardware and software as well as subcontractor services as needed.
- Provides technical support to various departments and users.
- Serves as liaison with vendors and other third-party providers.
- May assist in proposal prep for new solutions.

Required Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 5 years of related experience
- Ability to obtain/maintain a Secret security clearance; US Citizenship required
- Excellent communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Active CCNA or CCNP certification
- Current or previous Cisco Certified Design Associate (CCDA) or Cisco Certified Design Professional (CCDP)
- Knowledge of Cisco Identity Services Engine and CyberVision
- Knowledge of Fortinet Products
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Products to include Visio
- Knowledge of layer 2 switching
- Experience with OSI 7 layer model
- Experience with Static, Dynamic, and Layer 3 routing
- ITIL knowledge
