General Summary

Provides highly complex technical assistance in support of operating Facility Related Control Systems (FRCS).  Provides system services in the areas of maintenance, testing, operations, logistics, integration, and installation of FRCS.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (*Essential functions)

  • Provides on-site system administration of FRCS.
  • Provides security subject matter expertise in matters pertaining to FRCS/OT environments.
  • Configures and implements industrial control system solutions for Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Supervisory, Control, and Data Acquisition (SCADA), building automation, and process control. 
  • Provides technical assistance with regard to daily operations, system upgrades, and preventative maintenance of assigned FRCS.
  • Properly address TCP/IP networks and RS-485 communications across multiple protocols including BACnet, Lon, Modbus, and others as required.
  • Resolves operational and technical deficiencies within the control systems.
  • Monitors daily FRCS operations ensuring system performance and data requirements meet specifications.
  • Tests FRCS to ensure proper functionality.
  • Identifies, orders, receives, and tracks parts for FRCS.
  • May serve as a technical liaison between government customer and vendors and other stakeholders.

Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in applicable field of study or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 10-20 years related experience
  • Knowledge and experience with Facility Related Control Systems (FRCS)
  • Must be able to obtain/maintain a Secret security clearance; US Citizenship required
  • Working knowledge of desktop applications including word processing, spreadsheet, and database programs

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with SCADA software (Wonderware, ICONICS, FactoryTalk Studio, etc.) and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) (Not all inclusive)
  • Familiarity with Building Automation Systems (Niagara, Metasys, Trane, WebControl) (Not all inclusive)
  • Familiarity with hardening of Field Points of Contacts (FPOC) and Building Point of Contacts (BPOC)
  • One or more of the following certifications is a plus:
    • IEC 62443 Fundamental Specialist Certificate
    • GIAC Security Essentials Certification
    • GIAC Global Industrial Cyber Security Professional (GICSP)
