General Summary
Develops and applies advanced methods, theories and research techniques in the investigation and solution of complex and advanced software applications and problems.Principal Duties and Responsibilities (*Essential functions)

· Plans, conducts and technically directs projects or major phases of significant projects *
· Coordinates efforts of engineers and technical support staff in performance of assigned projects*
· Conducts investigations and tests of considerable complexity *
· Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with designers or hardware engineers
· Generates systems software engineering policies, standards, and procedures
· Reviews literature, patents & current practices relevant to the solution of assigned projects *
· Reviews the completion and implementation of technical products *
· Serves as technical expert on development projects
· Evaluates vendor capabilities to provide required products or services
· Provides technical consultation to other departments

Required Experience
- Bachelors’ degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, business or other related field or equivalent
- Minimum of 8-10 years of related experience
- Working knowledge of current operating systems and programming languages, including Java and Python
- Experience with video and Imagery processing
- Experience with development of Android applications
- Experience with command and control systems
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security clearance within 6 months of hire; US Citizenship required
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with development in the Android Tactical Assault Kit (ATAK) software development kit
- sUAS experience
- Experience with TAK Server plugins
- Experience with cellular and wireless technologies
- Secret Security Clearance
