- Have knowledge of avionics engineering in support of avionics subsystem definition, development, integration, all verification methods to include review of ICDs, sustainment, modeling/simulation, test and evaluation, and airworthiness certification across a wide range of hardware and software systems.
- Support Aircraft Information Management Systems (AIMS) requirements/ testing/ certification and spectrum management requirements/ testing/ certification.
- Use knowledge of Communications, Navigation, Surveillance/Air Traffic Management (CNS/ATM) requirements, policies, and regulations to define requirements, complete CNS/ATM compliance matrices, and support testing and certification of aircraft and supporting systems.
- Assist in reviewing/developing/updating applicable program documentation for avionics engineering relevant requirements.
- Demonstrate knowledge in the area of controls and displays, data bus, and data recording development, test, sustainment and operations covering airborne vehicles’ controls and displays subsystems (including but not limited to cockpit displays and aerial refueling operator station displays) to include performance, integrity, and FAA and DoD airworthiness/certification.
- Collaborate and participate in the development and refinement of aircraft modification requirements.
- Identify aircraft design and operational deficiencies (within the scope of the design) and recommend improvements / enhancements.
- Work with the assigned division and communicate with the assigned weapon system user community on crew system issues that arise during requirements generation.
- Evaluate early aircraft software demonstrations/engineering builds and provide real time feedback based on proven engineering principles.
- Evaluate early aircraft hardware changes/modification and provide real time feedback based on proven engineering principles.
- Prepare technical reports and recommendations for aircraft design improvements.
- Collaborate in the formation of test for performance, reliability, and suitability of aircraft, systems and design.
- Collaborate, plan and participate in / observe laboratory and flight tests.
- Shall work with the assigned division and communicate with the assigned weapon system user community on crew system issues that arise during development and/or testing.
- Analyze field and depot submitted technical assistance requests and assist in the development of guidance to resolve identified problems.
- Complete technical evaluations of weapon system contractor proposal submittals, assessing compliance to meeting stated requirements and evaluating level of effort estimates against experience/knowledge of proficiency required.
- Assist in writing, reviewing, editing, and updating technical documentation including contractual CDRL documentation submittals.
- Be willing/able to travel to support program meetings including tests/demonstrations, as required.

Required Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in an ABET accredited engineering discipline
- Minimum of 15-20 years related experience
- U.S. Citizenship required. Ability to obtain/maintain a Secret security clearance required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Military Pilot experience
- Five (5) years of DoD transport aircraft aircrew experience
- Experience in the assigned division’s weapon system
