The purpose of this position is to support the Engineering Department by creating a Savings Dashboard that illustrates how much money is saved by using In-house design and project management services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Collects and analyses historical data from Divoco on hours spent per position for each project.
• Collects data of competitive hourly rates for similar positions in the private sector.
• Performs analysis of rates to determine the amount of savings per task, project phase, project total, department total, total per year and grand total.
• Displays results on the intranet in a clear and visually engaging format. Supports Engineering Team as needed with various department activities.
• Assists permitting, survey, construction and design teams as needed with tying in Strategic Plan Goals to metrics on the Engineering Intranet Page.

Supplemental Functions:

• Performs other similar duties as required.

Job Specifications and Qualifications:

Knowledge:

• Civil engineering principles and practices
• Mathematical concepts
• Applicable local, state, and federal laws, rules and regulations
• Basic GIS concepts
• Technical writing techniques

Licensing and Certifications:

• Valid North Carolina Driver’s License

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalency and at least six-months of advanced study and currently enrolled in an undergraduate program studying Engineering or a closely related field at an accredited college or university.
