This position is a summer internship with the City of Concord's Finance Department, with a special focus on budget and strategy.

Anticipated activities and duties include, but are not limited to:
• Data collection and analysis of FY 2026 year-end Strategic Plan submissions
• Development of the FY 2026 Strategic Plan Playbook Report
• Data collection for and preparation of the Annual Adopted FY 2027 Budget Book, associated PowerPoint presentations, and summary materials
• Assist with the implementation of the new budget system through data crosswalks, a summary of historic data, and/or data gathering.

The selected candidate will be supervised by the City’s Budget & Strategy Manager and will have direct access to and interaction with the Finance Director, Senior Budget Analysts, and the City Leadership Team (City Manager, Assistant City Managers, Department Heads).

Concord desires candidates with a deep interest in local government who can manage or perform multiple tasks or projects with limited supervision. This role involves working comfortably with computers and common software applications such as Microsoft Office, Excel, Teams, and PowerPoint. The employee will apply local, state, and federal laws, rules, and regulations in daily work, prepare and deliver presentations, and analyze financial data to develop thoughtful, well-supported recommendations. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are important, as this position requires regular interaction with others to share information, collaborate effectively, and follow work direction.

No experience is required.

Applicants must be currently enrolled in either an undergraduate or graduate program for Political Science, Public Administration, or a related field of study.
