The purpose of this position is to enhance awareness and understanding of the Electric Systems Department by leading educational initiatives and coordinating community events.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Participates in community events such as touch-a-truck, job fairs, Christmas Tree Lighting, Christmas parade, etc.
- Collaborates with the Human Resources Department to participate in career fairs and job fairs.
- Partners with local high schools and community colleges to increase trade awareness.
- Serves as point of contact and coordinates Electric Systems involvement in City sponsored educational programs such as Civic Education and Concord 101.
- Partners with Administration Manager and Safety Coordinator to develop, maintain, and track mandatory and assigned training for Electric Systems staff.
- Maintains Electric Systems Operations Center (ESOC) facility technology SOPs and provides functional assistance to staff and guest speakers as needed.
Supplemental Functions:
- Performs other similar duties as required.
Job Specifications and Qualifications:
Knowledge:
- Public speaking and training practices, principles, and protocols
- Critical thinking practices and principles
- Record keeping practices, principles, and protocols
- Operation of modern office equipment and equipment used for presentations
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office and software used for presentations
Licensing and Certifications:
- Valid North Carolina Driver’s License

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements:
- Positions in this class require: standing, fine dexterity, walking, sitting, handling, vision, foot controls, hearing, twisting, talking.
- Medium Work: Exerting 20 - 50 pounds occasionally, 10-25 pounds frequently, or up to 10 pounds constantly.
- Incumbents may be subjected to extreme temperature, wetness and/or humidity, noise and vibration, physical hazards.

Required Experience
Associate’s degree in Business Administration or related field from an accredited college, university, technical, business, vocational, or correspondence school, with at least one (1) year of relevant work experience; or the City may consider an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
