The City of Concord is seeking a dedicated and customer-oriented individual to join our team as a Customer Service Specialist. This full-time, regular/at-will position is an entry-level role located within the CUSTOMER SERVICE department, offering a competitive hourly wage of $22.56 with no travel required. As a Customer Service Specialist, you will be the first point of contact for our citizens, providing exceptional service and support across various communication channels, including in-person, telephone, radio, and other technologies. Your primary responsibilities will include responding to inquiries, facilitating services for utility account maintenance, resolving customer issues, and performing administrative duties such as data entry, filing, and preparing correspondence. You will document customer interactions, handle after-hours emergency calls, and contribute to departmental reports. The role demands a commitment to the City's values, emphasizing quality service, integrity, and community engagement. Physical requirements for this position include fine dexterity, sitting, reaching, handling, vision, hearing, twisting, and talking, with the classification of sedentary work. The successful candidate will be expected to perform other duties as required and adhere to all workplace regulations and standards. Required Experience

  • Experience with data entry and administrative tasks
  • Familiarity with the functions of City departments is beneficial
  • Experience working in a public sector or municipal environment is a plus
  • Prior experience with emergency response or after-hours customer support is desirable
