The purpose of this position is to assist athletic staff and customers in boat rental in the daily operations. To provide a safe and organized environment.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs daily operations by opening and closing the boat rental area, ensuring paperwork, rental agreements, receipts, and forms are completed, ensuring customers’ required identification and licenses are current, enforcing rules and regulations of the lake, and ensuring integrity of paperwork and cash handling procedures.
  • Provides customer service by communicating with patrons, community, and staff, explaining rules and regulations, and collecting rental fees.
  • Maintains equipment and facility by checking for proper operation of boats, ensuring equipment is in working condition, identifying safety issues, cleaning facility and grounds, and performing light maintenance.

Job Specifications and Qualifications:

 Knowledge:

  • Applicable practices, materials, and equipment in assigned area of responsibility
  • Basic boat operation and maintenance
  • Applicable local, state, and federal laws, rules, and regulations
  • First aid practices and techniques

 Skills:

  • Providing customer service
  • Properly maintaining necessary paperwork
  • Communication, interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, the general public, etc. sufficient to exchange or convey information and to receive work direction
  • Prioritizing and resolving disputes impartiality

Licensing and Certifications:

  • Valid North Carolina Driver’s License preferred

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements:

  • Positions in this class typically require: kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, talking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions.
  • Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

A combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
