Proposition Lead - Acquisition

Te Pūtake | Why we’re hiring: We’ve created a new role within our Acquisition team, reporting to the Head of Acquisition on the Access Leadership Team. As part of our broader strategy to grow new connections to the Chorus fibre network, we’re targeting a range of initiatives—one of which focuses on market segments where fibre uptake has traditionally lagged. The Proposition Lead will play a critical role in this effort, with a primary focus on developing and executing initiatives that accelerate growth in these underpenetrated segments.

 

Te Whiwhinga Mahi | The Opportunity

Our Access business unit is the engine room for consumer and small-to-medium enterprise growth, aligned with our aspiration to achieve 80% fibre uptake across Aotearoa. We work in close partnership with Retail Service Providers to win new fibre customers, ensure seamless connections, and deliver exceptional experiences that foster long-term satisfaction.

Access is a dynamic and competitive environment, and we’re looking for someone with a strong track record in shaping and delivering end-customer value propositions, product enhancements, and new product launches that drive acquisition, connections, and revenue growth.

As the leader and subject matter expert (SME) for your squad, you’ll play a pivotal role in defining strategic priorities. You’ll leverage customer insights, market research, and industry analysis to craft compelling propositions that resonate with our target audiences. Whether it’s bundling existing products, enhancing services, or launching new offerings, your work will be tightly aligned with our strategic goals.

You’ll collaborate with cross-functional, outcome-driven squads—including Marketing, Data Analytics, Experience Design, Channel Partners, and Product—to define and manage integrated go-to-market plans. A key part of your role will be leading the development of business cases and launch plans that set our propositions up for success. You’ll also work closely with the Access Leadership Team to ensure your squad’s initiatives are prioritised appropriately within the Access roadmap and aligned with our broader strategy.

 

Ō Wheako, ō Pūkenga | Your Experience

We’re looking for someone with:

  • 10+ years’ experience leading product or segment management propositions, ideally within telecommunications, technology, utilities, or a related industry
  • A proven track record of developing, launching, and optimising successful products and propositions
  • Strong leadership experience, particularly in managing cross-functional teams within agile or squad-based models
  • Strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to translate insights into actionable propositions
  • A problem-solving mindset and a passion for innovation and challenging the status quo
  • Exceptional influencing and communication skills, with the ability to engage and align diverse stakeholders
  • Experience in financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting, with a focus on aligning investments to ROI

You’re naturally curious and data-driven, with a strong ability to connect the dots between customer needs, market opportunities, and business outcomes. Your ability to lead with influence, think strategically, and execute effectively will be key to driving success in this role.
