Te Whiwhinga Mahi | The Opportunity
As a Senior Salesforce DevOps Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in driving technical excellence across our Salesforce platform. You will lead and mentor a team of Salesforce developers, ensuring the delivery of high-quality code, seamless integrations, and maintaining platform reliability. Acting as a key technical liaison between development teams and business stakeholders, you will bridge technical delivery with strategic business needs, helping drive operational efficiency and continuous improvement across the organisation.
In this role, you will:
- Lead and guide a team of Salesforce developers, mentoring junior developers, conducting regular code reviews, and promoting best practices to ensure consistency and technical excellence.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Salesforce platform by monitoring performance, ensuring security, managing integrations with other systems, and quickly troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues to minimize business disruption.
- Stay abreast of new Salesforce features and industry best practices, proactively recommending enhancements and driving the adoption of innovative technologies and methodologies to improve development processes and platform capabilities.
- Act as the primary technical liaison, collaborating closely with business and technology teams, preparing and delivering clear and effective presentations to stakeholders, and ensuring technical concepts are communicated effectively to non-technical audiences.
- Design, develop, test, and deploy code, as well as create and maintain automation tools for deployment, monitoring, and operational tasks.
- Collaborate in planning ceremonies by providing technical design input and estimations, while ensuring risks and issues are proactively identified and resolved.
- Manage Salesforce releases with clear visibility for business and technology teams, and administer user access, profiles, roles, and permissions within the platform.
- Continuously improve operational and business processes by leveraging Salesforce automation tools such as flows.

Ō Wheako, ō Pūkenga | Your Experience
This role requires advanced technical skills, leadership abilities, and a commitment to continuous improvement to effectively oversee operations and guide junior team members.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Significant experience in Software Development, DevOps, or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) roles.
- Deep technical engineering experience with Salesforce. Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins and Bitbucket.
- Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Ansible.
- Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools.
- A strong understanding of integration concepts and security best practices.
You will possess excellent problem-solving skills and a keen attention to detail, complemented by strong communication and teamwork abilities. Demonstrating a proven record of accepting responsibility, owning actions, and making sound decisions, you will also bring leadership experience with the capability to mentor and guide a team effectively.
