Te Whiwhinga Mahi | The Opportunity
As a Strategic Sales Lead – Data Centre Connect, you’ll take ownership of growing our Data Centre Connectivity business. Your focus will be on identifying new opportunities, building strong relationships, and delivering solutions that meet the needs of data centre operators, from Tier 1 to Tier 4, as well as large-scale Hyperscalers and channel partners.
You’ll manage the full sales cycle, from prospecting through to closing deals, with a strong focus on understanding the needs of each customer. You’ll work closely with internal teams, like product, marketing, and engineering, to ensure what we offer aligns with customer expectations and market trends. You’ll also bring your insights back into the business to help shape future propositions and initiatives.
This is a hands-on, strategic role for someone who enjoys making meaningful connections, thinking commercially, and helping customers solve complex challenges. Ō Wheako, ō Pūkenga | Your Experience
You’ll bring depth and confidence to this role. We’re looking for someone with a strong background in strategic sales within the Data Centre, B2B telco, or IT space, someone who’s already achieved big things and is ready to inspire from the front.
To be successful, you’ll need:
• 7–10 years of experience in a strategic sales role within Data Centre, B2B telecommunications, IT, or a related industry
• A proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets and driving consistent revenue growth
• Strong existing relationships with decision-makers in the Data Centre and Hyperscaler connectivity market
• Hands-on experience developing and managing complex RFPs and RFIs, with a track record of winning proposals
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, you know how to build trust and influence
• Sharp analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to turn insights into sales strategies
• The ability to juggle multiple priorities and projects while staying focused on outcomes
• Familiarity with CRM tools like Salesforce and experience using sales analytics to inform choices.
• A customer-first mindset, you understand client needs and know how to craft tailored solutions
• A proactive, adaptable approach, you’re comfortable in fast-moving, high-growth environments
