Te Whiwhinga Mahi | The Opportunity
As the Manager, Operational Network Delivery, you’ll be at the front of a team responsible for keeping key parts of the Chorus network running safely, efficiently, and reliably. This includes managing the operations and maintenance of critical infrastructure like poles, manholes, pits, and lids, ensuring everything is delivered to a high standard and within budget.
You’ll work closely with internal teams, contractors, and senior leaders to deliver a programme of work worth $20–30 million, balancing day-to-day needs with long-term planning. This role is about bringing together people, processes, and systems to make sure our physical network is well maintained and future-ready, while meeting safety, customer, and performance goals.
You’ll also take the helm on developing a high-performing team, setting clear goals, and supporting growth and development. A big part of this role is collaboration, whether it’s managing stakeholder expectations, aligning priorities across teams, or championing change that makes things better. If you enjoy inspiring people, driving performance, and making sure complex operational work runs smoothly, this role offers a great opportunity to make a real impact.
Ō Wheako, ō Pūkenga | Your Experience
To make a success of this role, you’ll need strong leadership experience in operations, with a solid understanding of asset management, customer delivery, and working with large-scale contracts.
You will bring:
• 7+ years in a senior or mid-level leadership role within a capital-intensive industry
• Experience delivering operational or transformation programmes that improve customer experience
• A strong understanding of asset operations, contract management, and supplier relationships
• Proven ability to manage programme risks, costs, and performance metrics
• Confidence analysing complex problems and making trade-off decisions
• Solid commercial experience, including contract negotiation and delivery
• Hands-on experience managing customer service operations or outcomes
• Excellent stakeholder management skills—you know how to build trust and influence across teams
Not sure that you meet all the requirements? If you still think you could be great for the role, we encourage you to apply!
