Te Momo Tūranga | Contract: Permanent, Full Time
Te Wāhi | Where: Auckland, Wellington & Christchurch
Te Pūtake | Why we’re hiring: We’re stepping into our next chapter, aspiring toward 80% fibre uptake across the motu by 2030. With our new strategy providing the roadmap for what we’re working to achieve and how we’ll get there, opportunities are emerging as we seek to expand our capability and talent in new and different spaces.
Te Whiwhinga Mahi | The Opportunity
The Network Operations team at Chorus is the backbone of our field workforce, driving robust and efficient operations. From building and operating our infrastructure to connecting customers to the Chorus network, the team ensures everything runs seamlessly.
With strong contract management, streamlined processes, and smart asset management, they’re focused on delivering an outstanding customer experience.
As Manager, Supply Chain, you’ll play a critical part in keeping our network operations running smoothly. You’ll be responsible for ensuring the right materials are in the right place at the right time, while minimising cost and waste, to support the build and maintenance of our evolving network.
This is a strategic role with a broad remit, you’ll set the direction and frameworks for supply chain operations, rather than executing the day-to-day. Your focus will be on how we approach inventory and logistics, not just doing the work. You’ll need to bring a mature leadership style, confident in owning this space and leading with influence across vendors, delivery partners, and internal teams.
You’ll oversee the logistics of all network equipment, from supplier through to deployment and decommissioning. This includes managing 3PL providers, warehousing relationships, and the financial and commercial aspects of inventory.
Ō Wheako, ō Pūkenga | Your Experience
Experience in telco or IT inventory is a bonus, but not essential, you’ll need a solid grasp of supply chain ecosystems, frameworks, and governance, and a proven ability to translate them into clear reporting and operational outcomes.
To take charge and make a real impact, you’ll bring:
- Strong experience in operational supply chain management, ideally in a capital-intensive or asset-heavy industry
- Mid to senior-level leadership experience, with a strategic mindset and the ability to own and shape a functional area
- A solid understanding of 3PL frameworks and the deliverables needed from third-party logistics providers
- Knowledge of warehousing, supplier management, and the financial implications of inventory decisions
- Deep familiarity with contract conditions, commercial management, and risk trade-offs
- Proficiency in program management, forecasting, value reporting, and governance
- A strategic lens on logistics, able to set the frameworks and guide the “how,” not just the “what”
Not sure that you meet all the requirements? If you still think you could be great for the role, we encourage you to apply!
