We are seeking a Director of Agency Marketing and Communications

Carmichael Lynch has been growing steadily for the past decade, and we have many success stories to share. We are looking for a communications leader that will help us get our client work and our agency happenings into the news, shared on social, and talked about in the world.

Areas of Focus:

As Director of Agency Marketing and Communications, you partner closely with the Managing Partners to develop an external marketing and communications strategy and plan that nurtures and enriches the agency’s reputation and brings “Come Together. Stand Apart” to life. You have intimate knowledge of the agency’s work and programs and help us to develop an engaging brand narrative. You will work with us to build a dedicated communications team that will support you.

Media relations and media outreach:

You develop and nurture relationships with media on behalf of the agency. You work with creative and account teams to proactively story-mine and create newsworthy and shareable angles for trade, business and consumer media. You are responsible for developing multi-media news releases and gathering visual assets for new hire announcements, client news, creative and campaign launches or agency news.

Executive visibility:

We have a talented team with expertise to share, and we need your help taking their thought-leadership beyond our virtual walls. You are responsible for finding speaking opportunities, helping to develop by-lines, and securing media interviews for our senior leaders and discipline experts as well as preparing our agency spokespeople with briefings and key messages.

Social and digital storytelling:

Working closely with our social team and the dedicated agency social strategist, you are responsible for creating a social channel strategy and plan across all agency social channels as well as developing a social editorial content calendar. You will also manage content updates for the Carmichael Lynch and Carmichael Lynch Relate websites working alongside our digital team.

DE&I and employer-brand commitment:

You help us tell stories that build our employer-brand as an inclusive place to work with a strong culture of belonging. It’s important to us that we continue to keep a focus on building representation, equity, inclusion, and understanding across a diverse group of communities within our agency and our work and in the news we release. You will help amplify our DE&I speaker series. You collaborate with HR and our DEI lead to ensure inclusive messaging.

Awards and recognition:

You work closely with the client teams to develop attention-getting client case stories as well as an award-entry strategy and plan. You will enter awards for both agency, client and individual accomplishments. This includes managing communication of various agency recognitions and merchandising awards with media and on social channels as well as sharing with new business to amplify with our new business audiences such as consultants.

New business collaboration:

Marketing communications goes hand-in-hand with driving new business and our external brand drives the amount of and kinds of news business opportunities we receive. So we would like our communications plan to support our new business strategy as a symbiotic effort. You will exchange information regularly with our new business team so that they can merchandise case stories and awards and recognition with consultants and client prospects.

What We Believe:

We believe that when the best of strategy and creativity come together, brands stand apart.
