Under the direction of the Production Manager/Supervisor, the Filler / Operator will be responsible for loading, maintaining, and operating production machinery. In addition, the Filler / Operator will be responsible for Food Safety and practicing and enforcing all GMPs and appropriate food defense techniques.

DUTIES/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Equipment set-up and breakdowns for appropriate machinery
• Equipment troubleshooting
• Complete production paperwork in timely manner
• Maintain a clean, tidy, hazard-free work environment to defined standards
• Put materials away in proper location
• Communicate any waste to production supervisor
• Review weekly/daily production schedule
• Maintaining a steady flow to meet production goals and efficiencies
• Communicate any materials or equipment issues to Production Management
• Responsible for maintaining a safe work environment. Report any safety hazards to management immediately. 
• Attend regular team meetings
• Promote a continuous improvement culture within the department
• Follow all required safe work practices. This would include (but is not limited to) wearing of all required PPE in designation areas, fall restraints, safe lifting techniques, etc. 
• Complete assigned work within scheduled time
• Follow all GMPs, safety, company policies and procedures
• Excellent attendance required, as well as respect for others, dependable, strong work ethic

Required Skills

Education:

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred

Abilities:

• Willing and able to work flexible shifts and hours, including overtime, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to demonstrate and practice safe work habits
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Ability to exhibit sense of ownership and accountability

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 75lbs
• Ability to work in cold environments
• Ability to stand for up to 12 hours
• General mathematical ability
• Ability to push and pull up to 2,500lbs
• General knowledge of power tools
• Housekeeping as needed

Required Experience

• 1-2 years experience in a manufacturing/warehouse environment preferred

Knowledge:

• Effective verbal and communication skills
• Ability to write and read English
• Ability to demonstrate alpha and numeric matching skills
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measurements
