HR Business Partner - Generalist

We are looking for an HR Business Partner - Generalist to work with our team at our Cedar City, UT manufacturing plant.  This position works with multiple plant leaders and teammates at all levels of the company to help set strategy, lead change, and drive engagement. This is a hands-on role that will work across multiple functional areas and support all areas of HR program delivery.  The position will include some administrative tasks but primarily will be focused on building relationships throughout the team and its community and finding solutions that support the plants operational outcomes.

Key responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

  • Administrative duties such as: assisting with the recruitment activities; conducting new-hire orientations, trainings, and other onboarding activities; processing employee documentation and managing employee files; responding to employee questions and/or requests concerning company policy and benefits.
  • Working with Temporary Agencies to manage temporary employees.
  • Implementing and providing support on Human Resources initiatives and brokering the delivery of Human Resources services across multiple sites (AZ and UT).
  • Working with teammates, supervisors and managers in one-on-one or in a group setting to effectively coach and counsel on performance and/or interpersonal development needs.
  • Managing and resolving complex employee relations issues. Conducting effective, thorough and objective investigations.
  • Administering performance review program to ensure alignment with strategy, effectiveness, compliance, and equity within organization.
  • Working closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
  • Developing contract terms for new hires, promotions, and transfers.
  • Participating in evaluation and monitoring of training programs to ensure success and following up to ensure training objectives are met.
  • Support EHS initiatives for assigned sites and partners with EHS Manager, site leaders, and teammates to drive a zero-incident safety culture.

Desired skills and accomplishments:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a 4-year accredited university.
  • 3+ years of experience working in a Human Resources Business Partner capacity; preferably in an environment supporting manufacturing and/or warehouse teams.
  • 3+ HRIS and ATS experience
  • Ability to build strong relationships and act as a trusted advisor to leaders and teammates
  • Bi-lingual (Spanish) is highly desired, but not required
  • Exceptional adherence to detail, efficiency, and accuracy; takes ownership for results
  • Strong team player, able to work effectively with diverse client groups
  • Strong administrative and organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize workload and multi-task effectively while considering future organizational requirements
  • Proactive and self-motivated, customer-focused with a positive attitude
  • Acts with speed and is decisive in time-sensitive situations
  • Must be able to travel up to 25% (AZ, UT, CA)

Job Status: Full-time, On-site

About this location: Known as one of the gateways to Southwest Utah, Cedar City is a small town in with a population of about 20,000 people.  With easy access to both Zion and Bryce Canyon National Parks, there is an abundance of outdoor activities do in and around the town, attracting residents and visitors year-round.  There is also a vibrant art & cultural community that features several galleries and annual festivals.  It is home to Southern Utah University, and major cities such as Las Vegas or Salt Lake City are just a few hours’ drive away.
