JOB SUMMARY:

At CSIS we actively seek to employ a diverse group of people who embody our organizational values. We welcome and encourage individuals of all backgrounds to apply, especially those from traditionally underrepresented groups.

The Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) is a non-profit, bipartisan public policy organization established in 1962 to provide strategic insights and practical policy solutions to decision makers in government, international institutions, the private sector, and civil society. Over the years, it has grown to be one of the largest organizations of its kind, with a staff of more than 200 employees working to address the changing dynamics of international security across the globe.

The iDeas Lab, the award-winning creative and digital production department at CSIS, seeks a highly motivated and creative candidate for a full-time, 6-month design internship in a dynamic and fast-paced environment beginning in March 2022 (ending September 2022). This is a paid internship.

The iDeas Lab enhances CSIS's policy research and analysis with the latest in web products, design, video, and audio. You can see some of our work at ideaslab.csis.org. The iDeas Lab is a creative environment made up of three major sub-teams—video/audio production, web development, and design. We are a highly collaborative team, and many of us use our skills and passion in many different creative arenas.

The successful candidate will work closely with our design team on print, web, and graphics projects covering a spectrum of CSIS issue areas. We are looking for a creative, energetic, self-starter who has a strong desire to experience the many different facets and phases of design and digital media production. Working closely with our experienced and talented team, interns are involved in the entire design process from concept to final products. The internship is structured to provide aspiring professionals with practical experience and hard-skill building.
