Under the direction of the Director of Admissions, the Applications and Admissions Coordinator will work at the CSI main campus to help students, faculty, and staff complete the Admissions processes by providing guidance, service, and support. The position will be responsible for New Student, Apply Idaho, and international application processing. This position plays a pivotal role on the admissions team and a positive, helpful, and dedicated demeanor is essential. 

 

This position will also be responsible for all individual tour appointments and group tour presentations. This position often is a first point of contact with the public and prospective students which requires knowledge of the college resources, programs, people, and policies, as well as public speaking skills with a positive attitude and a commitment to higher education.

 

The Applications and Admissions Coordinator will play a pivotal role in the implementation and importance placed on a student’s Sense of Belonging and student life experiences at the College of Southern Idaho. This position requires a dependable, flexible, organized, and friendly team member answering emails, telephones, greeting the students, responding to inquiries, and assisting students/parents throughout the application, admission, and transition to campus processes. The position will ensure an inviting, professional and timely student assistance.   

 

In addition, the Applications and Admissions Coordinator will continually assess and improve the effectiveness of various recruiting, outreach, and retention strategies (to include but not limited to utilizing the Power BI reports) to ensure job duties are performed in an accurate and timely manner. The coordinator will advocate the value of a postsecondary education, including workforce training, Bridge, CTE and apprenticeships, to help students achieve individual education goals.   

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

 

Working independently to organize and prioritize multiple tasks, performs the following duties in a timely and efficient manner:

 

Technical (70%):

 

  • Works as the primary New Student, Apply Idaho, and international application processing point of contact.
  • Maintain data reports daily to ensure timely and accurate student information.
  • Assist students in completing enrollment processes including processing admissions applications, submitting high school transcripts, running daily procedures, and managing error reports.
  • Coordinates and oversees student records and admission processes.
  • Assist with scanning all high school transcripts.
  • Assist with indexing all high school transcripts and applications.

 

Recruiting (30%):

 

  • Presents information about the benefits of education from the department, college or area being represented on campus individual and group tours.
  • Works closely with student services staff from Enrollment Services, Advising, Financial Aid/scholarships, Office of the Registrar, etc.
  • Support Admissions Office and Early College Coordinators with any recruitment support for prospective students within Region 4. Recruitment support includes participating in high school enrollment days, college fairs, and community events. 
  • Assist with and attend CSI Admissions Events, including Eagle Explore and Instant Enrollment Days.
  • Esurance of prompt and courteous service to students, high schools and internal CSI teams.
  • Assist with office coverage during regular business hours.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

 

  • Associate degree or two or more years of experience involving exceptional student/customer service.
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn and serve is an essential expectation for this position.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet the duties and responsibilities in the job description
  • Two or more years of experience involving exceptional student/customer service
  • Strong focus on student success and high school relationships
  • Organizational skills to work within prioritized needs.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and public relations skills to meet people courteously and to work with all ages and socioeconomic groups.
  • A strong service orientation or desire to meet people’s needs, handle challenging situations and provide customer service and promote teamwork within the department, the College and community.
  • Good judgment and professionalism in dealing with pressures and meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to listen, take directions, and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to attend to detail and follow directions with thoroughness and accuracy.
  • Self-motivated to take assignments and carry them through from initial stages to completion.
  • Demonstrated ability in business communication, including proper business English usage, composition, punctuation, and spelling.
  • Flexibility and a willingness to attend and receive additional training to improve skills.
  • Flexibility of work schedule when needed,
  • Has respect for others' opinions and behaves to ensure an atmosphere of respect and trust.
  • Able to maintain confidentiality with all matters.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

 

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Spanish Speaking

 

TECHNICAL EXPERTISE REQUIRED

 

  • Proficiency in appropriate computer software including Microsoft Office, e-mail, telephone skills, and other related office systems.
  • Ability to learn the CSI admissions, registration processes, business office, and other computer systems and maintenance skills.
  • Attention to detail, accuracy and follow through.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and use CSI’s digital systems.

 

WORK SCHEDULE AND CONDITIONS

 

  • Weekend and evening work may be required during certain periods of the year. 
  • Timeliness, dependability, flexibility, and positive attitude are critical to this position.
