The College & Career Readiness program is looking for an outgoing, dynamic individual with excellent customer service skills to work in the program’s Intake office.  This person should be able to work well in a team setting, in a complex, fluid environment. 

 

The preferred candidate will have the skills and/or desire to work with individuals with limited English language communication.  Intake/Test proctors administer program assessments (both paper/pencil and computer based), assist students with paperwork, and meet individually with students to interpret test results and assist with identifying educational goals.  Intake/Test Proctors are also responsible for delivering program orientations and assisting all stakeholders, including program staff, students, and the public, with information about adult education and College & Career Readiness services.

 

Year-round, evening travel to all off-campus program locations throughout the Magic Valley, is an integral part of the job.  Training for all aspects of the position is provided.  Educational experience and knowledge of a language other than English is preferred but not required.

 

Requirements:

 

  • Provide initial information regarding admittance into the CCR/ABE program
  • Schedule and administer program assessments
  • Conduct student orientations, consisting of public presentations to groups of 20 people or less.
  • Advise students on assessment results and class placement.
  • Assist students in accurately completing necessary forms
  • Perform required travel to off-campus sites for testing and intake duties during evening hours
  • Be familiar with program curriculum, class options, and academic calendar
  • Assist with recruitment activities
  •  Maintain hard-copy student files
  • Track student post-testing needs, according to state policy
  • Communicate in a clear, concise, courteous, and professional manner, including with individuals who have limited English proficiency
  • Participate in professional development
  • Associates degree required. A background in teaching, counseling, and/or testing, or demonstrated experience in an educational/advisory setting is preferred.

  • Have the ability to maintain confidentiality in all student matters
  • Possess excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Have the ability to work as part of a team
  • Have the ability to understand and efficiently navigate frequently used testing applications
  • Have the ability to manage multiple personal logins and passwords
  • Have a basic knowledge of computers and Microsoft programs
  • Have sufficient computer competency to troubleshoot technological problems
  • Knowledge/fluency in another language preferred
