The Certified Nurse Assistant Program Manager at the College of Southern Idaho is a faculty member responsible for overseeing the CNA Program and all related advanced pathways. Oversight duties include participating in and leading activities that create high-quality instructional experiences, including curriculum management, instruction, student success, and industry alignment. The CNA Program Manager works in collaboration with the CSI Workforce Development’s Healthcare Program Manager to meet the needs of the communities CSI serves. The CNA Program Director must possess strong communication and collaboration skills,

 

Responsibilities of CNA Program Manager:

 

  • Engage in and lead recruitment efforts for the program.
  • Develop and lead retention practices (e.g., student clubs, student competitions, high-impact practices).
  • Manage program budget.
  • Coordinate ordering of programmatic supplies.
  • Complete teaching assignments as needed.
  • Hiring/training/mentoring of program’s faculty/staff.
  • Maintains accountability to professional boards and State guidelines.
  • Act as program liaison between CSI and dual credit faculty.
  • Ascertains the program’s changing curriculum needs from faculty, student, and industry input.
  • Evaluate program faculty/staff.
  • Lead program faculty/staff.
  • Oversee the program review process and implement changes to improve enrollment, retention, completion, certification, and student learning outcomes.
  • Development of budget and resource requests.
  • Curriculum development and modifications for all programs within oversight responsibilities.
  • Determines and assigns fall, spring, and summer schedules.
  • Monitors enrollment and appropriately adjusts schedules as needed.
  • Uses departmental resources responsibly, including human, fiscal, and facilities resources. 
  • Schedules and loads faculty schedules responsibly. 
  • Approves or denies program purchases and monitors the budget monthly.
  • Prepares preliminary departmental budget requests in conjunction with faculty members and conveys them to the appropriate chair annually.
  • Oversees program’s clinical opportunities for students with industry, representing CSI in building clinical relationships.
  •  In coordination with faculty and staff, creates, submits, and archives appropriate documentation and reports, e.g., syllabi, outcomes assessment, program review, and IDPs, ensuring timely completion of each by program faculty.
  • Participate in specialized program-level accreditation in department program areas.
  • Facilitate textbook and instructional supplies selection.
  • Performs other duties and projects as requested by the Chair and/or Instructional Dean.
  • Track and report on all CNA programs' student enrollment, retention, completion, and certification rates.
  • Maintain compliance with relevant accreditation standards and regulatory requirements for advanced CNA programs.
  • Foster collaboration between CNA instructors and faculty across different advanced pathways.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and best practices in advanced CNA care.
  • Participate in professional development including new faculty onboarding.
  • Work collegially with other.

 

Minimum Qualifications and Skills:

 

  • A current unencumbered Idaho RN license.
  • Experience as an RN for three years; two in long term care preferred.
  • Maintain certification Department of Health and Welfare and Idaho CTE teaching requirements.  Experience in dual credit is a plus.  
  • Emotional and physical health to enable full participation in the classroom and clinical areas.
  • Evidence of achieving positive student relationships.
  • Ability to work as a team member.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills
  • Time management, highly organized, and detail oriented.
  • Multitasking with strong prioritization skills
