Job Title: Aquatics Specialist
Position Overview: The Aquatics Specialist is an intermediate operational role in which the focus shifts from learning to independent execution. This position requires the ability to perform lake, pond, and stormwater maintenance activities with minimal supervision. The Aquatics Specialist is expected to be fully proficient in company policies and safety protocols, delivering high-quality results across all divisions while maintaining certifications and client relationships.

Key Responsibilities
Operational Independence & Performance
- Autonomy: Perform most necessary maintenance activities on lakes, ponds, and stormwater devices without direct supervision.
- Scope Management: Be thoroughly familiar with client contracts and scopes of service to ensure all requirements are met.
- Quality Control: Pass monthly Corrective Maintenance audits with a score of 80% or better.
- Cross-Divisional Excellence: Receive positive feedback on performance from all FLPM divisions (Preventive Maintenance, Construction & Repair, and Retail).
Technical Troubleshooting & Assessment
- Diagnostics: Proficiently troubleshoot and maintain basic fountain and aeration systems.
- Vegetation Management: Identify and control most undesirable vegetation problems.
- Proactive Reporting: Observe job sites to anticipate maintenance needs and relate detailed notes/repair opportunities to the Service Manager.
Communication & Compliance
- Reporting: Effectively use client reporting software and time-tracking apps (keeping administrative time under 25%).
- Fleet Care: Independently manage vehicle maintenance and inspections by deadlines.
- Responsiveness: Respond to emails within 2 business days and phone/texts during working hours.

Licensing & Certifications
- Required: Valid Driver’s License with a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
- Required: Must have completed the North Carolina SCM Certification Class.
- Required: Must obtain/hold the North Carolina Aquatic Pesticide Application License.
Technical Skills & Experience
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Associate degree in environmental/water resources preferred.
- Operational Skills: Proficiency in boat operation/trailering, electric motor installation, and heavy equipment operation.
- Knowledge: Understanding of aquatic vegetation, fishery management, and stormwater device functions.
Physical Demands
- Ability to lift and carry up to 80 lbs.
- Willingness to work in water, mud, and all-weather conditions.
- Capability to travel, including occasional overnight trips.
