Landscape Construction & Installation Crew Member
Position Summary
Hands-on field role supporting installation crews to deliver high-quality landscapes safely and on time. You’ll assist the Crew Leader with daily production tasks—planting, turf work, site prep/clean-up—and learn proper equipment operation and jobsite standards.
Key Responsibilities

Crew Support & Training
-
Assist the Foreman with training and instruction on all aspects of landscape grounds management and installation.

Follow safety protocols, SOPs, and quality standards; attend daily huddles and safety talks.

Installation & Site Work
-
Perform digging, planting, raking, watering, mulching, edging, grading, and jobsite clean-up.

Logistics & Materials
-
Load and unload heavy equipment and plant materials from trucks.
-
Collect and return company tools/equipment at day’s end; keep trucks/trailers organized.

Equipment Operation (as trained)
-
Mowers: push, walk-behind, and riding
-
Soil/Turf: tillers, aerators, slit seeders (and, on occasion, wheel tractors)

Detail Tools: edgers, string trimmers, chain saws, hedge trimmers
-
Applications & Cleanup: backpack sprayers and blowers
-
Hand Tools: shovels, picks, rakes, pruning tools

Skills & Requirements
-
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a routine basis.
-
Ability to bend and stoop on a continual basis.
-
Ability to work outside in all weather conditions.
-
Ability to work around bees, poison ivy, pollen, thorns, and other environmental risks.

Must wear work boots and Bland Landscaping uniforms, and present yourself in a clean and polite manner.
-
Must practice safety with chemicals and equipment.
-
Must wear company-provided eye and ear protection as required.

Must have good communication skills and the ability to motivate others.
-
Must be willing to obtain NC Pesticide Applicator’s License.
-
Valid NC Driver’s License and good driving record preferred.

Must be able to pass a criminal background check.

Must comply with Bland’s policies and procedures.
Physical & Work Conditions
-
Frequent standing, walking, bending, and stooping; routine lifting/pushing/pulling up to 50 lbs.

Outdoor work in heat, cold, and rain with exposure to dust, pollen, and insects.

Early start times, overtime, and occasional Saturdays based on seasonality; winter support for snow/ice operations as assigned.

Consistent use of required PPE.
