Job Title: Account Manager, Commercial Grounds Management

Position Overview The Account Manager is a pivotal role that blends client service, sales, and operational leadership. This individual serves as the primary field partner for assigned clients, driving customer retention, enhancement sales, and new revenue. The Account Manager translates client expectations into clear production plans, coordinating resources across departments to ensure safe, consistent, and high-quality service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Client Service & Sales

Relationship Management: Serve as the primary field contact for clients, maintaining proactive communication through regular site walks and reporting.

Retention: Own customer retention across the portfolio by addressing issues quickly and closing the loop on service requests.

Sales Growth: Meet or exceed monthly enhancement sales goals; identify upselling opportunities, gather site data, and develop accurate estimates and proposals.
Operations & Production

Coordination: Convert client expectations into actionable work plans and service notes for production teams.

Scheduling: Align schedules for seasonal work (mulch, flowers, pruning, turf/IPM) with contract requirements.

Collaboration: Partner with Production Managers and cross-functional teams (Irrigation, Fleet, Safety) to deliver a consistent product.

Field Support: Safely operate company vehicles and support winter operations (snow/ice response) as per the branch plan.
Management & Administration

Portfolio Health: Track quality scores, renewal status, and the enhancements pipeline; support Accounts Receivable (AR) as needed.

Forecasting: Forecast labor and material needs with branch leadership to balance route density and productivity.

Reporting: Prepare site reports, change orders, and maintain accurate CRM/job files.

Compliance: Monitor subcontractor performance and ensure adherence to green-industry best practices and regulations.
Requirements & Qualifications
Experience & Education

Required: 3+ years of experience in commercial landscape maintenance, account management, or related service operations.

Preferred: Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Horticulture, Turf, Landscape Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Track Record: Proven success in client retention and enhancement/upsell sales.
Technical Skills & Knowledge

Industry Knowledge: Working knowledge of turf, horticulture, irrigation, seasonal color, and common grounds management scopes.

Technology: Proficiency with email, CRM software, estimating tools, and mobile work-order applications.

Certifications: Pesticide and/or irrigation certifications are preferred.
Core Attributes

Communication: Strong planning and problem-solving skills with the ability to lead through influence.

Physical Demands: Ability to lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs, walk frequently, and stand for extended periods in seasonal weather conditions.

Licensing: Valid driver’s license with an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
