Role Summary
The On-Site Manager owns day-to-day service delivery, safety, quality, and client satisfaction at assigned properties. This role is hands-on in the field—planning work, leading crews, inspecting sites, solving issues in real time, and serving as the client’s primary operational contact. Success looks like clean schedules, zero safety surprises, tight quality control, and proactive communication that retains and grows accounts.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Scheduling
- Build and execute weekly/daily work plans, route schedule, and seasonal calendars for assigned property.
- Coordinate materials, equipment, and subcontractors to hit scope, budget, and timelines.
- Conduct start-of-day huddles; confirm work orders, priorities, and site access requirements.
Quality Control
- Perform routine site walks and document punch lists; close gaps quickly.
- Enforce adherence to horticultural best practices, brand standards, and contract scope.
- Partner with Production Managers/Floriculture/Irrigation to stage seasonal color, turf programs, pruning cycles, and irrigation audits.
Client Service & Retention
- Serve as the primary operational point of contact; provide timely updates and recommendations.
- Capture enhancement opportunities (safety, curb appeal, water management) and coordinate proposals.
- Support walk-throughs, meetings, and reporting; track recurring concerns to resolution.
People Leadership
- Lead 6-10 field crew members (size may flex seasonally); set expectations and coach in the field.
- Uphold attendance, performance, and conduct standards; escalate issues promptly.
- Promote a positive, accountable culture aligned with safety and service.
Safety & Compliance
- Model safe work habits; conduct JSAs, tailgate talks, and equipment checks.
- Ensure PPE use, vehicle/equipment inspections, and incident reporting per policy.
- Maintain site-specific rules, permit, and access protocols.
Administrative & Financial
- Approve time, track production, and validate work completion in company systems.
- Manage material/PO requests and equipment allocations to plan.
- Support branch KPIs: quality scores, renewals, enhancements, productivity, and safety.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of commercial landscape maintenance leadership (crew lead/foreman/AM/PM) with multi-crew oversight preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of mowing practices, pruning, seasonal color, turf/plant health, irrigation basics, and landscape safety.
- Proven customer-facing communication—confident in walk-throughs, email updates, and issue resolution.
- Fluent with smartphones/tablets and basic field software (work orders, timekeeping, inspections).
- Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license with insurable record; ability to operate company vehicles safely.
- Ability to work outdoors year-round; lift/carry 50+ lbs; frequent walking, bending, and equipment use.
- Early start times with occasional evenings/weekends during peak seasons or weather shifts.
- Must pass pre-employment screenings per company policy. (Non-DOT physicals for drivers may be required.)
Compensation & Benefits
- $46k - $55k Annual Salary
